However, the users who buy the 16 GB model and even the 32 GB model face the issue of less available storage capacity.
Today, we will be sharing some tips on how to free up space of your iPhone. Following are the things that you can do to make sure that you have enough free storage space to utilize:
- Delete unused Application:
The first and the most easy thing to do when you want to free up space on your iPhone is to delete all of the applications which you once installed and are not using anymore. There are bound to be many applications that you are not using or have replaced them with another application. For example, you might have two or three application which is serving the same purpose. It is a very common case when it comes to photo editing applications.
- Automatically delete text messages:
You iPhone store all the message which you send and receive. All of the messages take up space, and it’s another very easy way to free up space on your iPhone. All you have to do is to go to Setting> Messages and under the tab of Message History, tap on Keep Messages. It will take you to a window where you will have the options of keeping the messages for 30 days, one year or Forever. It will be set to Forever by default. We recommend you to change it to 30 days or 1 year.
- Delete browser and app data cache:
Your browser and application caches are also eating up your storage capacity. It is highly recommended that you clear the cache of your browser and also for applications like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and others. They store a lot of files which are of no use to you. To delete the cache of your browser, go to the Settings> Safari> Clear History and Website Data and then tap on Clear Browsing Data. There are many third-party applications available in the App Store which can delete all the unnecessary cache files from your iPhone.
- Utilize the High-Efficiency feature:
The pictures that you take from your iPhone consumes a lot of storage space. Recently with iOS 11, Apple introduced an option to shoot in High Efficiency. When you enable this option, all of your photos will be stored in the HEIF format which is a new compression format. It will replace the JPEG format which usually results in more size of the pictures.
- Delete unwanted Music:
A lot of iPhone users use Apple Music to download a lot of music files. There must be some music which you just didn’t like after downloading or you don’t listen now. As unused music files take up space, it’s a good idea to go through your playlist and identify the songs you are not listening anymore and delete them.
